Need an English Translation?
Legalisering.dk provides English translations performed by native English translators. We offer both commercial translations and certified translations with an apostille stamp.
Commercial Translations
Legalisering.dk translates a wide range of texts for business clients. Our certified translators are well-versed in the terminology and proper expressions used in business documents, ensuring that your translation will be accepted the first time you present it to the recipient.
All translations provided by Legalisering.dk are carried out by native speakers. If you have a text that needs translation, we recommend contacting us via our contact form, and one of our project managers will promptly reach out to you.
Certified or Legalised English Translation with Apostille
At Legalisering.dk, we offer four solutions for your English translation needs.
Certified Translation
The first option is a certified translation, which means that the document has been translated by a certified translator who stamps or endorses the translation. This is also commonly referred to as a sworn translation or a certified translation—they all mean the same thing. Please note that this type of translation will be provided as a physical hard copy, and no changes or corrections can be made once it is completed. You will receive the final translation as a scanned PDF, followed by the physical document with a wet signature, sent via GLS to the address you provide.
Certified Translation with Legalisation
The second option is a certified translation, which, as mentioned, includes an endorsement from one of our certified translators. This translation can also be legalised by obtaining a confirmation endorsement from Danish Chamber of Commerce (Dansk Industri) or a notary, followed by an apostille stamp from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Due to the requirements of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in most cases, we will need you to send us the original document, as it must also be legalised with an apostille before the translation can be legalised. You can either obtain the apostille for the original document yourself, or we can assist you with this.
Company-Certified Translation
This type of translation is performed by a professional translator who is a native English speaker. The translation is then proofread and added to our company cover page, confirming its accuracy. This can be a more cost-effective option if the recipient accepts this type of certification. You can click here to read more about this type of translation.
Company-Certified Translation with Legalisation
This company-certified translation, along with our company cover page, can be further legalised with a notary and an apostille. The process involves the project manager taking the translation to a notary, who verifies the project manager’s signature. After this, the notarisation is legalised at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
As with the previous case, due to the requirements of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we will typically need you to send us the original document, as it must also be legalised with an apostille before the translation can be legalised. You can either obtain the apostille for the original document yourself, or we can assist you with this. Please indicate your preference in your enquiry. Legal Requirements for Your Translation
Depending on the country where you need to use your translation, different requirements may apply. These requirements might include needing a "certified/sworn translation," which means it must be done by a certified translator. You may also be asked to obtain an apostille for your translation—we can easily arrange this for you, and it is included in the price if you select "legalised translation" when requesting a quote.
If you need your translation legalised, you should check whether the original document also requires legalisation. The general rule of thumb is that if your original document was issued by an authority, it needs an apostille; if it was issued by, for example, a company, such as payslips or invoices, the original document typically does not need legalisation, and you only need to have the translation legalised.
If you wish to have your translation legalised, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ guidelines require that the corresponding original document also undergoes a legalisation process. You can find more detailed information here. We are also happy to assist in legalising your original document if you send it to us.
